NEW ADVANCED SECTION
OF EXCELLENCE IN SCIENCE
The Lycée Français de Pondichéry, a 182 years old institution, is proud to announce the opening of an advanced section of excellence in science that will give a unique opportunity to English-speaking students from India and other countries to acquire an intensive education in math and science from class 9 to class 12. The curriculum will be taught through an English-French bilingual medium where the French language will be introduced progressively.
At the end of the 4 year program, the student will acquire the French
“Baccalauréat Scientifique” (equivalent of +2 degree specializing
in science) with European mention, a highly valued degree recognized
in India, France and many other countries in the world.
FRENCH EDUCATIONAL NETWORK
The Lycée Français de Pondichéry is part of AEFE, Agency for French Education Abroad managed by the French government, which is one of the largest international educational networks (452 schools in 135 countries).As France is well known for its high quality education in math and science, AEFE has launched similar intensive programs in science in various other countries.
The Lycée Français de Pondichéry has been chosen by AEFE for its outstanding results. A partnership has been set up with the Lycée Louis
Le Grand of Paris, one of the most prestigious schools in France with a long list of illustrious alumni, especially in math (3 recent Fields Medals).

With this excellent background many of the Lycée alumni go on to study in well-known engineering colleges and universities in India, France and other countries.With the opening of this new section and the French Baccalaureate qualification,an international window is thrown open to English-speaking students.
ADMISSION TEST: REGISTRATION ONGOING
The admission test comprises of a written test and an interview in English based on 7th and 8th standard curriculum. High scores in science subjects are a prerequisite.
The registration for the test can be done via mail or via post at the addresses given below.
The closing date for registration is 20th February 2009.
The admission tests will be held March beginning at Lycée Français and in Alliance Française of various cities throughout India and is free of cost.
Please contact us at the earliest as the number of applications for admission test is limited. Every participant will receive a certificate of participation.
